LECOPE

Create one more Git checkpoint without help.

  1. Open the Tool Playground project.

  2. Add one new sentence to welcome-note.txt.

  3. Save the file.

  4. Open Source Control in VS Code.

  5. Check that Git shows the changed file.

  6. Stage only welcome-note.txt.

  7. Create a commit with your own clear message.

  8. Take one screenshot showing:

    • Source Control open in VS Code; and

    • your completed commit message or Git history.

Lesson Complete When

You can confidently say:

  • “Git keeps a history of my project changes.”

  • “A repository is a project folder tracked by Git.”

  • “I know the difference between changing, staging and committing.”

  • “I can write a useful commit message.”

  • “Git works on my computer; GitHub stores a copy online.”
